The waiting room
The waiting room was the front parlour. There's a sash window onto the lane, chairs that don't match, and the kettle is usually on. Nobody will hurry you out of it.
Yes, we're taking new patients. Children on the NHS, adults on the practice plan or private.
In pain today? We keep same-day slots every weekday morning. Here's how they work.
Children are seen on the NHS. Bring them from their first teeth; we'd rather they knew the house long before anything needs doing.
Children on the NHSAdults join the practice plan, from £17.50 a month, or pay our published fees as they go. A new patient appointment is £65 and lasts forty minutes.
Fees and the planIf something hurts, you don't need to be a patient already. We keep same-day slots every weekday morning; ring when we open and we'll find you one.
If you're in pain today
The waiting room was the front parlour. There's a sash window onto the lane, chairs that don't match, and the kettle is usually on. Nobody will hurry you out of it.
The children's corner is under the stairs. There's a box of books and a low table, and most of what's pinned to the wall was drawn here. Children come in for a look round long before anyone looks at their teeth.
Anna's surgery is on the first floor at the front. The sash window is usually open a crack, so you can hear the lane. You'll see the chair from the doorway before you decide to sit in it.
Anna opened the practice in 2015 and sees most of our nervous patients. She tells you what she's going to do before she picks anything up.
Sam is the other dentist. He does most of the mending, and he'll say what he's about to do before he does it, every time.
Leah is our hygienist. Her room has the best window in the house, and she is gentler than you're expecting.
Two nurses look after you as well. They'll be the first faces you see at the door, and they'll sit with you if you'd like someone to.
Plenty of the people who come to us haven't seen a dentist in years. We won't ask how long it has been, and we won't tut.
Your first visit is forty minutes, and it can be just a conversation if that's what you'd like. Nothing happens until you say so. If you want to stop, raise a hand and we stop, for as long as you need.
How we work with nervous patients
We keep same-day slots every weekday morning for people in pain. Ring when we open at half past eight and tell whoever answers that it hurts.
01632 960 214Children are seen on the NHS. For adults there are two ways, and both are written down.
The plan is for routine care, your check-ups and hygienist visits, spread across the year from £17.50 a month. It's a way of looking after people so that the day you come in is just a visit, with no bill to think about in the chair.
If you'd rather pay as you go, every fee is published. A new patient appointment is £65 and a hygienist visit is £72. Anything else, we'll tell you the cost before we do it.

We're in a Georgian house just off Catherine Hill, in the middle of Frome. We look after families from the town and the villages around it, and if you're not sure which door is ours, ring and someone will come to the step.
Tuesday and Thursday are our late evenings, for people who can't get away from work in the day.
